Trudy Innes Richardson, J.D., is the founder and principal of High Road Mediations, LLC.  She became certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Family Law  Mediator in 2015, and as a Circuit Civil mediator in 2021. To date, she has mediated over 1100 cases. She is also an Arbitrator for Civil, Construction and other disputes.

Trudy brings her experience as a co-parent and a step-parent to the mediation table to help parents find creative ways to co-parent children positively.  She is also collaboratively trained and eligible to serve as a mediator in collaborative cases where necessary.

Her experience as a litigation attorney affords her the ability to analyze civil cases quickly and offer court-tested language in her mediation agreements and arbitration awards.  She has extensive experience in medical malpractice, construction, and insurance cases as well as probate and slip and fall/personal injury matters.

As a small business owner, Trudy understands the economics of litigation.  If it is possible to resolve your case and help you move forward without the uncertainty and expense of a trial, she will help you accomplish it.

Lily h. McLauchlin

 

 Lily McLauchlin, J.D., is a 2021 graduate of Florida State University School of Law. In addition, she has experience in dependency matters from her pre-law school employment. She is attending Family Mediation training and will be observing and co-mediating until she has received her certification. She has experience in family law litigation, public interest law, and has just completed her Collaborative training. We cannot wait to see her shine as a mediator!


Sophia Akel

Sophia Akel, J.D., earned her B.A. in Philosophy & Economics, and her Juris Doctor from Florida State University. She is now an M.A. Candidate at the University of Central Florida. She is pursuing an Interdisciplinary Studies degree with concentrations in Philosophy & Education. Her end goal is to become a professor of law.

Aside from academics, she serves as a research professional at the Office of the State Courts Administrator in the Family Courts division. In this role, she has the incredible opportunity to perform research, provide outreach and education, and create helpful resources for survivors of domestic violence & the practitioners that come to assist them.

The main skills Sophia possesses and values are flexibility/adaptability, analytical reasoning, problem solving, empathy, attention to detail, and team management. These are the guiding principles that inform her mediation practice. She is certified in Small Claims and Family as a mediator.
